Local automotive training academy announces partnership with Ford Motor Company

The Metro Booming Training Academy announced its partnership with the Ford Motor Company, bringing economic growth to the city of Jackson.This partnership was eight months in the making after the Ford Auto Company did a site tour of the academy and decided to invest.This new program provides workforce development for students at Mac Haik Ford and other Ford and Lincoln dealerships. Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba showed support for this partnership and shared how important this program is for residents to have a better quality of life, while growing the local economy. “We’re making strategic decisions in order to invest in them, we want them to know that their city is going to support them, and the quality of life they just deserve,” Lumumba said. Lumumba said they are working to find creative ways to stimulate the economy while finding ways to invest in the people. Richard Bradley, president of the Metro Booming Training Academy, gave more insight into what this program has to offer.”The ace program is one of the key components that we need for the electrical vehicles coming out, and many different transitions coming out in the auto world right now. We want to make sure the students are up to speed and have the best technology they need to be successful in this program,” Bradley said. Bradley said along with this project, they have a housing initiative ongoing, continuing to invest in the Jackson community.
